Our technologists are dedicated to do everything to keep your baby healthy.

Communicate with the technologist openly. Understand that you are both on the same side wanting the best for the baby.

Understand the tests to be performed on your baby's blood. How many vials to be collected and how much blood to be drawn?

If your baby has undergone testing somewhere else, tell the technologist what has worked and what has not. Keep a note of easily accessible veins.

Involve your kid in a process and engage them in some activity so that the phlebotomist can easily draw blood and your child is distracted from the procedure.

Sample can be drawn from a finger prick or heel prick as the situation demands.

In case if vein is not visible or easily palpable then the senior phlebotomist will draw the blood.

The phlebotomist will try to bend the hand of your baby or may hold child's hand tightly to locate the vein properly.

You may have to hold the child's head and legs tightly to restrain him/her to make any movement on the bed.

Try not to panic or cry in front of your child at the time when sample collection is being done.

Our phlebotomist will try his best to draw blood sample in one prick only. But sometimes due to some unforeseen circumstances a second prick may be required.

Your consent will be taken before giving second prick.

Remember we are here to help you and do best for your child. Your cooperation and mutual understanding and trust will help us to do the best for your child.

You may have to wait for the phlebotomist to finish his job with other patients before he draws your child's blood sample. It is because collecting child's blood sample requires time and effort to pacify the child before drawing blood. The procedure is different from adults.
